JOIN MONGOOSE IN WALKING TOGETHER WITH MEMORY WALK!

What a busy few weeks it’s been for Alzheimer’s Society and their flagship Memory Walk series, a movement Mongoose are proud to work with and support! As the final weekend of 2017 walks approach, we thought we’d take a look at the highlights of the series so far.

This year’s walks started out with an exciting announcement – family favourite supermarket chain Iceland confirmed as Memory Walk’s Lead Partner! They got to work activating at events and pushing the message out far and wide across their 880+ stores nationwide, helping Memory Walk drive its goal to reach 300,000 participants by 2020 by engaging Iceland employees and customers.

Already off to a good start, it’s been even more positive to see some of the UK’s biggest and best public figures getting behind the Memory Walk cause! Davina McCall pledged her support for years to come inspired by her father who is living with Alzheimer’s disease, and was a smash-hit with the crowds at the Brighton Memory Walk a few weeks ago.

Sir Geoff Hurst also showed his support for Memory Walk, taking part in his local Cheltenham walk and taking the series international in articles for the New York Times and the Washington Post, speaking about his personal connection to dementia through its impact on some of his fellow former players. 

It is due to this kind of support and generosity from public figures and all those affected by Dementia in some way that Memory Walk 2017 has so far raised an amazing £4.4m! Last month’s event in London is currently top of the leader board at £330k raised, but with the first ever night walks London, Liverpool and Cardiff still to come, all is not over yet!!
