MONGOOSE MONTHLY ROUND UP - APRIL

And just like that April has been and gone. A matter of days before the first long weekend of the Bank Holiday month. Six weeks out from the start of the World Cup. Two months until Wimbledon…

It’s been a huge month in the world of sport – an hour before March turned into April, AJ had gone twelve rounds against Joseph Parker, defeating him on points to win his fourth world title. Into the first week and the Commonwealth Games were in play. Bets were placed on the Grand National, Tiger Woods made his return to the Masters, and just last weekend, over 40,000 took to the closed roads of the city for the 38th edition and hottest London Marathon on record.

We’ve been keeping busy as a result and the team have been to all corners of the country, and back again, hosting events, running shoots (and marathons), checking in at client HQs and recceing a huge array of sites & venues for the hectic summer season ahead. We were off to a flying start for The North Face with an epic launch event for their She Moves Mountains campaign - a global movement rooted in sharing more stories of women in exploration, engaging in activism to enable the next generation of explorers. Watch this space for their work with outdoor educational UK charity, The Outward Bound Trust, as they aim to reduce financial barriers for young women from all walks of life to experience the great outdoors. 

The Optimum Nutrition team headed North for the Manchester Marathon where we had 220 weary runners plunge into the ice-bath, as part of our Gold Standard Zone recovery activation at the finish line. ON Ambassador, Lily Sabri, was on hand to advise and assist with race recovery and the promo team nearly ran out of water as the protein shakes were in high demand!

Mid-month saw us pad up with England cricket pros to shoot some exciting new content (with a host of excitable young fans) for New Balance – watch this space for more news from the latest addition to our client roster…

And just a week after we took to the pavements to cheer on our marathon-running team members, the Lucozade Sport team took their seats at BT Sports Industry Awards where we were up for nomination for our work with Anthony Joshua – bringing the home the bacon for Film Content of the Year with the epic short film of AJ’s story: Nobody Ever Moved Forward Standing Still. 

Phewf. And that’s just a fraction of it! So here’s to some stonking April success and onto the very merry month of May…
