MONGOOSE MONTHLY ROUND UP – SEPTEMBER

As Lucozade Sport ambassador Harry Kane put his annual August struggles behind him and kicked into his customary goal scoring form during September, team Mongoose has also been busy getting things over the line this past month. As our sales division started working with the Harlem Globetrotters, it has been the turn of PR and digital teams to bring on board yet another new client. A massive welcome to the Mongoose family to the blackcurrant ‘king of superfoods’, CurraNZ!

As its first ever communications agency, we’ll be supporting the launch of the performance based supplement across various channels and implementing a yearlong campaign to highlight the overwhelming health benefits of the product. The team can’t wait to get started and after this client win, the office definitely looks set to become a much healthier place. I’m not sure it will offset all the chocolates which Amelie Hawkins and Jack McLean consume on a daily basis though!

After an action packed August launching the ‘Walls Are Meant For Climbing’ campaign, The North Face team has yet again been working hard hosting a plethora of European media at Mountain Festival 2017 alongside elite athletes such as Hansjörg Auer (alpinist) and Pau Capell (ultra-trail-runner). Furthermore, the majority of the Bosch eBike team was at the Cycle Show putting its epic EMTB track to the test, whilst Natalie Higgins was also on two wheels back in London demonstrating how much fun you can have on an  eBike to a select group of media.

The activation team has also been busy on numerous fronts as Aldermore Bank has all but wrapped up its 2017 events calendar after the Burghley Horse Trials with ambassador Francis Whittington and the annual football tournament at St George’s Park in partnership with brain injury charity Headway, which raised over £12,000. As autumn beckoned, the team was down on Brighton beach enjoying the last of the summer sunshine activating P20’s title sponsorship of the final event in the hugely popular Colour Run series.

Not forgetting the sales division which has been busy with the Jacksonville Jaguars in town for their annual NFL fixture at Wembley Stadium, where they dominated the game, beating the Baltimore Ravens 44-7. As well as the professional fixture, the team has been helping the Jaguars roll out grassroots projects such as Jag Tag, Sevens and the Jaguars Academy across the length and breadth of the UK.

With so much great stuff going on, the Mongoose family grew one bigger for the second month running. A big welcome to our latest addition Annabel Laity. Annabel literally got stuck in straight away as she completed Tough Mudder with 10 fellow Mongooses and the Lucozade Sport client – a huge well done to you all! Despite some aching bodies at HQ the following day, everyone involved absolutely loved it. Is it still too soon to say ‘same again next year’?

The September edition of the ‘Mongoose of the Month’ award will be shared by Katie Swan and James Hughes-Mulligan. Both have done amazing work for the digital team and sales division respectively. Congratulations you two, keep up the good work!

October looks set to be another packed month of activity on and off the field for team Mongoose as Lucozade Sport FitWater ambassador Anthony Joshua defends his heavyweight world titles against Bulgarian challenger Kubrat Pulev at the Principality Stadium and Monster Products host its third and final Train Like a Monster event. Off the field, a number of the group are participating in Memory Walk on 14th October and we’re also hosting an office bake off to raise money for our chosen charity partner, the Alzheimer’s Society, so please dig deep to donate to the cause: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/mw280388

Until next month, ‘you stay classy San Diego’!
