New Goose Alert: Katie Catherall! 

Katie Catherall joins the team as am Account Executive, and you can learn a bit more about the newest goose below! 

Why did you want to work for Mongoose? 

Combining both my love of sport and fascination of media, Mongoose seemed like the perfect company for me! I was impressed by the work I had seen online, especially with The North Face and Football Fives, I wanted to be a part of that excitement. 

Tell us a bit more about you, where you have come from and what you studied? 

I’m a northern girl who has very recently moved to the big city of London. My background is mainly in journalism, I worked in local press for a few years before taking a big leap to BBC Sport. 

I worked on the online football team at BBC Sport, helping to create original content for all 20 Premier League teams (as well as the much-loved Leeds, Leicester and Southampton). 

I have also been lucky enough to work with some really exciting PR clients such as The Raheem Sterling Foundation – a personal favourite as a football fan! 

Where do you consume your news?

For sport news I will always head to my trusted sources on X (or Twitter) to see what they are reporting. I may be slightly biased, but I love the BBC News website and app for updates too! 

What do you like to do in your spare time? 

I love to explore new football stadiums and see different teams play. In 2023 I started a bit of a personal goal to get to as many different leagues as possible, this is certainly continuing into 2024. 

My favourite weekends are those that include some form of fitness and some form of sport.

I also love to venture to new coffee shops with a good book in hand, I feel that is the best way to relax, if I can tie a pretty walk in with this too then it’s a win-win. 

Your favourite sport and team?

Great question! I was born a Manchester United fan but have a soft spot for Bournemouth … some would say they have become my number one team, but I will not confirm or deny these rumours. 

I also love Formula One, supporting Ferrari is a real love-hate relationship. As well as this I am a big boxing fan, I love to watch tennis and athletics (having ran track and cross country myself).
