The Mongoose leadership team

The motto of the Mongoose family is to Run and Find Out. We combine this hunger for knowledge and insight to deliver the best sports sponsorship, PR, digital and activation campaigns, using our years of industry experience and make sure we run like no other.

Our team of specialists have senior experience at some of the largest global brands, most renowned events and award winning agencies and are here to help out-think, outwit and outplay your competitors.

Chris O'Donoghue

CEO

Chris has spent the last 15 years living the mongoose way - running and finding deals within sports and entertainment marketing, PR and comms.

He has driven key client sponsorships with the likes of Rolex, Heineken, Sony, Aberdeen Asset Management and Thomson Reuters through a variety of different disciplines including Sailing, Golf, Cycling, Triathlon and Expeditions.

Chris’ main passion is tennis and while his backhand needs a fair amount of work, he has secured and managed some of the sport’s biggest sponsorship programmes, including being responsible for the sponsorship assets for the WTA globally, the ATP and The ATP Champions Tour.

Since moving from Waterford, Ireland to the UK 15 years ago, Chris’ Irish accent has progressively diluted. His sea legs continue to be terrible but his time to run 5k is improving.

Laura Pollard

COO

Laura is our business & strategy guru. She has 10 years’ experience, most recently at Vodafone where she headed up their fashion sponsorship programme, building the ground-breaking principal sponsorship of London Fashion Week.

Prior to this, Laura worked rights holder and agency side, guiding global consumer brands such as MasterCard, Pepsi, Lavazza, Thomas Cook Sports and BG Group through sports, music and fashion sponsorship activation.

Laura lives and breathes Mongoose strategy, leading our return on investment division and making sure we outwit, out-think and outplay in everything we do.

Laura was once a European Lacrosse Champion, but these days when the sun is shining she is more likely to be seen outside the public houses of Fulham sipping on a G&T with a slice of grapefruit.

Rupert Pratt

Director

With 20 years experience in the sponsorship industry and the co founder of Generate Sponsorship, Rupert has a broad range of experience working with Sponsors and Rights Holders internationally, across Sport and Entertainment from niche, extreme and lifestyle sports to mainstream properties.

Prior to selling Generate to Mongoose, Rupert was MD overseeing its business divisions and client services across Consultancy, PR & Digital, Events and Sales. Clients included Aon, Wrigley, Timberland, QBE Insurance, eBay, Jewson, Maximuscle and Greene King to the World Rally Championship, Rugby Europe, FEI, Sport England, British Cycling and England Golf.

A firm believer that sponsorship is a catalyst for business growth, Rupert enjoys delivering commercially led and integrated partnerships that deliver measurable impact.

Living on the South coast Rupert wakes up each morning looking at the beach, is often spotted running through Borough Market after a high octane gym session (more likely Zumba). He spends his weekends coaching kids to pass the ball forwards on Saturday and backwards on a Sunday.

Andy Muggleton

Commercial Director

Andy has over 19 years’ experience within the commercial sport and entertainment sector and was a founder and Managing Partner of Generate Sponsorship, now part of Mongoose Sports & Entertainment since April 2016.

In the last 13 years, Andy has driven the delivery of more than £20m in revenues for clients through traditional sponsorship and new world commercial partnerships across theatre, music, film, the NFP sector, rugby, cricket, motorsport, golf, sailing, business, sustainability, comedy, venues and the arts.

Andy has developed market leading pricing tools and platforms for the Not-for-profit sector and regularly runs commercial workshop with Rights Owners. Current and past clients include Cirque du Soleil, England Golf, Premiership Rugby, Wasps, CRUK, Macmillan, Save the Children, the LTA, the ECB and the Ambassador Theatre Group.

Having consulted for corporate brands when buying sponsorships/partnerships and when activating partnerships, he importantly understands the dynamics on both sides of the marketplace.

While Andy is a decent golfer he can often be heard saying that his game spoilt a lovely sunny walk. Despite the sharp suits and obligatory pocket squares, Andy is by far the most accident prone Mongoose, always with a story to tell on a Monday morning.

Lucy I'Anson

Communications Director

Lucy is an accomplished senior account handler with over 15 year’s agency, project and client management experience.

She is competent in developing and managing multi-tiered communication projects on a global, European and local level. Her sponsorship experience includes creating and activating brand partnerships for clients including QBE, Aviva, Gillette, Reebok and Evian.

Working with rights holders and NGB’s including, RFU, RFL, England Golf, Rugby Europe and England 2015.  Her project, PR and marketing experience covers London 2012, celebrity, music, technology, fashion, sport, FMCG and charity sectors.

The times where Lucy isn’t using her annual leave on the slopes, she tends to be thinking about skiing, dreaming about skiing, or booking the next trip skiing. Since joining Mongoose Lucy has most certainly upped the share price of Malibu.

Jo Long-Pockett

Associate Director

Jo has specialised in cycling & triathlon PR for 12 years and has driven the growth of these divisions at Mongoose over the past 6 years.  She has worked on a host of major events including the Tour de France Grand Départ, Tour of Britain, as well as the World Triathlon London and Blenheim Triathlon. On the brand side, she manages our relationships with Lucozade Sport, Bosch, Zwift, Wahoo and Blaze. Jo has considerable brand development experience, helping lead brand positioning and crisis management campaigns for a host of clients.

As a keen cyclist, Jo tries her very best not to see the inside of the London Underground, commuting most days to the office on her road bike. Jo is regularly found enjoying the London gig scene and her well curated playlists put the rest of the office to shame.

Katie Swan

Head of Digital

With ten years agency experience spanning PR and online marketing, when she says digital, she means digital and has delivered everything from website redesign projects, SEO, online advertising campaigns to, social media community management.

Whether focusing on increasing brand awareness, encouraging customer engagement, or driving website traffic, Katie uses all the data and analytics she can get her hands on to make informed decisions and a commercial difference to brands.   She believes it’s essential that clients understand what does and doesn't work for them and often takes in house stints with clients to provide on the ground support.

Katie lives and breathes digital and is a busy blogger on her own site Turn Loose the Swans and as a guest columnist on Mouthy Money. Her sport of choice is swimming, and when she’s not splashing around in the pool, she’s drinking copious amounts of coffee and listening to heavy metal.

Amelie Hawkins

Senior Account Director

Amelie has worked in Sport and Fitness PR for nearly 10 years.  Amelie is Mongoose’s resident fitness and lifestyle expert managing our relationships with Optimum Nutrition, Spartan, The North Face and Monster.

Her experience spans from leading on PR and influencer programmes, developing communications strategies as well as on-event press management and global media management. As the resident linguist, Amelie speaks both French and Spanish fluently and manages all our global clients and agency network.  She is learning Gaelic to translate Chris’ thick Irish accent.

Amelie is always trying out the latest fitness classes and health foods and chewing someone’s ear off on the benefits of protein consumption. That said on the weekends you are most likely to find her undoing all the good of her daily weekday workouts in the local restaurants of sunny Kent.

KIRSTYN MACRANDAL

Senior Account Director

With nearly a decade of PR experience and a background in sport science, Kirstyn specialises in the lifestyle, sports and fitness sector. Over this time Kirstyn has worked with a wide range of big brands including adidas, Lucozade Sport, Technogym and World Triathlon.

As a senior account director at Mongoose, Kirstyn works closely with her clients to create and deliver innovative campaigns that drive brand awareness and influence. From blogger advocacy programmes to expert roundtable events she has made a tangible impact to client business.

Kirstyn is passionate about her work and not shy to live and breathe the brands she works; from 5k running events and triathlons, to coast to coast adventure races or even casually cycling to Paris of a weekend.

Poppy Robinson

Regional Director, Asia Pacific

Poppy is our Mongoose on the ground in Asia Pacific (APAC), working closely with Mongoose HQ to deliver effective and regionally specific strategies for clients.

She has advised and managed a number of events and sponsorship programmes across the APAC region for clients including API, Diageo, BP Castrol, Fugro, Infineum, Saudi Aramco and Cepheid.

The heat of Singapore has meant Poppy has had to hang up her competitive riding boots, instead taking up an outside version of bikram yoga. Although incurring many a bruise trying the ‘scorpion’ or ‘flying crow’, Poppy is refining our own unique Mongoose pose – soon to be the favourite move of any yoga class!

John Beddington

Chairman

John has over 40 years of industry experience. Well known in racket sports, he has been involved in staging over 200 international tournaments in tennis and squash.

For 17 years John  was tournament director of the Canadian Open Tennis Championships in Toronto and Montreal and Executive Vice President of Tennis Canada. Returning to the UK, he created the prestigious Masters Tennis tournament at the Royal Albert Hall and brokered the long standing deal between Barclays and the ATP World Tour Finals.

John does an excellent Mansour Bahrami impression on the tennis court, and despite being very familiar with his trick shots, Chris falls for John’s cheeky drop shot every time.
