Get to know the newest member of the Mongoose team, Samantha Johnson, who joins the geese as a Senior Account Executive.

Why did you want to work for Mongoose? 

I’ve always been really fascinated by the world of sport and particularly the role media plays between sport and the fans – so Mongoose was a no brainer for me to combine my passion for both whilst being able to work with some amazing people! 

Tell us a bit more about you, where you have come from and what you studied? 

I am Derby born and bred but moved to London in 2017 to study at the University of the Arts London where I did a degree in Journalism and Publishing. Graduating in 2020 was certainly interesting with COVID all around but I quickly started a career in digital marketing where I spent the last two years working in paid media advertising across a broad range of clients. But but the goal was always to gain more experience in sports marketing. 

Where do you consume your news? 

My main sources are Twitter, BBC News as well as word of mouth from my friends and family. 

What do you like to do in your spare time? 

I usually spend my free time horse riding with my old Uni friends or visiting my family back home in Derby, where I love to go walking around the Peak District. I can also be found on the sofa watching the latest Netflix series or out at a bottomless brunch with friends, depends on the week! 

Favourite sport and team? 

Equestrian – specifically show jumping - and F1 are my favourite sports. Supporting McLaren in recent years has been a choice that has led to much heartbreak however!
