SIMPLYHEALTH RUGGER-BOX DIGITAL CAMPAIGN: ENGAGING WITH RUGBY FANS AT HOME DURING THE AUTUMN NATIONS CUP 2020

As the agency for Simplyhealth, the trusted healthcare partner to England Rugby, Mongoose were tasked with creating an exciting and engaging content campaign that links rugby to the launch of the SimplyMe health app.

THE CHALLENGE

To promote a clear mental and physical wellbeing message focused on the five data points of the new SimplyMe app whilst also appealing to a rugby audience.

THE SOLUTION

Utilising two famous faces within rugby and their families, with the addition of amateur rugby brothers from Essex, Mongoose created a Gogglebox style content series. Hitting a variety of demographics, the families were made up of former England captain Dylan Hartley and his wife and young daughter, England Sevens player Heather Fisher and her Mum and Nan, and two brothers from Old Cooperians rugby club who live and breathe the game.

The content followed each group as they watched ‘as-live’ games, talking about the action, discussing the community and easy steps that make a difference to how they feel each day, with a dash of humour.

THE RESULTS

The content proved hugely successfully resulting in over 1.7million impressions and 450k engagements with 3000 app downloads during the campaign period.

There was over 47k visits to the Ruggerbox landing page from social media and an average engagement rate of 26% across all platforms.
